Meet our 2020-21 Committee!
SUTCO's Committee are responsible for the everyday running of the society as well as being active members of the society!! Take an opportunity to meet the people making the decisions and ensuring the society is as welcoming as possible. Look out for us at SUTCo events and make sure to introduce yourselves!! We don't bite I swear :)
Goal: This year as chair I aim to make SUTCo as environmentally conscious and sustainable as possible, as well as keeping the society ticking along and providing all of the wonderful things it always has done!
My favourite SUTCo memory is my first ever get in, when I knew absolutely nothing but was welcomed and taught lots of new things, as well as making some good friends and laughing so much it hurt!
Goal: My goals for this year are to develop this society to continue to produce incredible work that will attract new audience members, whilst being increasingly inclusive! In the face of corona, this may change, but I hope to be able to enable the society to produce digital alternatives if necessary!
My favourite SUTCo memory is probably co-directing a show: I had a lot of fun and it was really rewarding.
Goal: My goals this year are to try and keep SUTCo running in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. This society means a lot to so many people, me included, and I want to help give SUTCo the resources it needs to keep putting on all it’s amazing projects and shows.
My favourite memory is standing off stage in ‘One Man Two Guvnors’ watching Michael Saliba throw a full jug of milk over an unsuspecting Emilie (and DS and ASMs) on stage after an unfortunate prop malfunction.
Goal: To use my role as front of house managers to get more sheffield students who aren’t yet involved in sutco to take part ushering. This is an amazing opportunity to see the talent that SUTCo has to offer.
Favourite SUTCo Memory: I am new to SUTCo and therefore do not have a specific memory, however the love and warmth that SUTCo has shown to me in the few months I’ve been a part of it has made my time at Sheffield so amazing!
Goal: To make SUTCo a more sustainable society, by reducing flyering and using recyclable materials for our external publicity. I also aim to utilise our online platforms through producing some exciting new digital content, and make our socials more fun and inclusive for everyone!
My favourite SUTCo memory has got to be performing in my first show last year, Anatomy of Gray. Not only was it an amazing show, but as my SUTCo debut it holds a very special place in my heart!!
Goal: This year I hope to push the use of online advertising to get more people involved and aware of SUTCo, I would love to show more clearly the wonderful things that we have to offer, making it easy as possible to join.
My favourite SUTCo Memory is my chair falling over during my first performance in Robin Hood, leaving me directly in front of the curtain as it closed. It was such a fun show and the best way to start my time with SUTCo!!
Goals: I am looking forward to being able to create a no-pressure drama group this year, as part of increasing our inclusivity and exploring more sketch-like performance.
My favourite SUTCo memory would have to be when me and Vic broke the bench during a performance of Debutante!
Goal: I hope to provide the society with opportunities to engage with theatre and learn outside of putting on shows. Organise events which challenge and inspire members in ways they didn't expect.
My favourite SUTCo memory is rolling around on the floor laughing my a** off during auditions.
